This year more than 150 participants were invited to a “Friends of CGIAR Event” at the Tropentag Conference in Berlin. The event was hosted by the Fund for International Agricultural Research (FIA) together with ATSAF in cooperation with ZALF and Humbolt University. All the participants were welcomed and greeted by Dr Alexander Schöning from GIZ together with the special guest Dr Johan Swinnen, Director General of the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) and Managing Director of Systems Transformation, CGIAR.

All the invited participants, together with some other attendees, have the opportunity to exchange ideas and network alongside a delicious lunch and refreshing beverages. One of the participants, Maximus Anochirim from Nigeria was really excited about this occasion and said- “it was a great platform for me to meet new young scientists and build my network”. The session was really fruitful as participants could interact without no restrictions, with no time boundaries or any formalities.
