So it starts tomorrow – the first virtual Tropentag! Instead of being curious and happy to sniff same Prague city air today, I sit at home at the kitchen table. No complaint – just … strange. Unusual, even if I already have some experience with these virtual conferences, workshops, training sessions this year. Will the technology work? Will a lot of participants log in? Will there be any exciting chats? No complaint – because the alternative would be that Tropentag 2020 would have to be canceled entirely. Oh dear, that wouldn’t be nice either … And – venerable Prague will certainly not run away.
